ENC1102 EPORTFOLIO

To be able to write and meet the ENC11o2 criteria effectively, we first had to be taught about new writing formats. Two formats we learned were the IMRaD and CARS models. IMRaD, broken down to the left, is the format that we needed to follow for our research paper. This format divided our research into sections, each showing a different step in our research process. The CARS model, however, were "moves" or steps, we needed to take when writing out introduction.
Just like the very hungry caterpillar was having a little more, I had to go a step further in my writing by learning and incorporating something I had never done before. However, this knowledge is important to me and can possibly help me in the future if I ever decide to do research professionally. These two models were two new ways of writing that expanded my mindset, helped me grow as a writer, and make my writing more enriched.

Another new way of writing that I had to learn was the APA format. In high school, my teachers taught me that MLA would be the only format I would need for college and beyond. However, in ENC1102, I learned that APA is actually the format that matters for my career.
Getting used to writing in APA format has taken me a long time, and I still struggle with it. One of the artifacts I included is a comment from my professor (from last week) telling me I should double-check my citing structure for proper APA format. I learned a lot along the way from these comments and the comments from my peers. I had to refer to the top artifact with the APA format many times throughout my research process.
MULTIPLE WAYS OF WRITING
TUESDAY
On Tuesday he ate through multiple ways of writing, but he was still hungry.
Students will be able to purposefully integrate multimodality, multiple languages, and/or multiliteracies into writing products to support their goals.
